Ben Wong began his ministry work in 1975 with the Navigators, moving into pastoring in 1982, and was the senior pastor of Shepherd Community Church (SCC) until 2005. SCC was the first cell church in Hong Kong, which has grown to number 2,500 in the last 28 years. As a church, SCC’s focus is on one-on-one disciple-making and strong family relationships, which is reflected in its current leadership spanning across four generations. SCC is also missions-minded, with over 50 long-term missionaries in 17 nations. Ben, although not in a leadership role at SCC, currently remains on the SCC staff mentoring its leaders.
In 2005, Ben Wong left his position as senior pastor to concentrate on his ministry with the Cell Church Mission Network (CCMN), where he is currently the Global Coordinator. CCMN is an organization that was a vision of SCC and was developed to network churches together in order to win Hong Kong for God and to reach the unreached peoples of the world. CCMN began by networking cell churches together in Hong Kong, but now includes approximately 150 churches from over 30 countries with over 150 missionaries in its network. CCMN also includes a pastor-to-pastor coaching network in several countries.
Ben has a heart for mission, to see the networking of churches all over the world to reach unreached peoples in the unreached places of the world, in order to accomplish the Great Commission. Ben is married to his wife Cynthia and has three adult children who are 41, 35, and 33 years old.
